Water Sports

Waterskiing/Wakeboarding
Campers learn to waterski, slalom, wakeboard, tube and/or barefoot from separate locations on two lakes. Onondaga is well equipped with a Malibu Wakeboarding boat and a J-Craft, ideal for waterskiing. Being taught from trained instructors makes trying and accomplishing new skills so much easier. Our ski staff has a great deal of patience as we recognize that it is one of the key skills needed to encourage campers to try new skills.

Swimming
All campers receive instruction on a daily basis from one of our ten Red Cross and/or National Lifeguard Society (NLS) qualified instructors. Campers are encouraged to achieve their Red Cross and Royal Saving levels. With many of our activities centred around the waterfront, increased swimming ability is an important part of the camp experience. During free swim, campers can jump from the 7-meter dive tower from three different levels.

Snorkeling
Ever wonder what is on the bottom of Middle Bob Lake? Strap on your fins, mask, and snorkel and find out. Learn some new skills or just have some fun discovering what lies beneath the waves.

Canoeing
Under the guidance of certified ORCA (Ontario Rowing and Canoeing Association) instructors, campers have a chance to learn how to travel by Canada's most historic mode of transportation - the canoe. This skill has been a mainstay at camps for generations and continues to be a great lifelong skill to learn.

Windsurfing
With a headwind consistently blowing into the bay, campers have a glorious opportunity to set sail on one of our eight windsurf boards and four wind gliders.

Sailing
A fleet of eight Lasers and 2 CL 14's provides campers with the opportunity to learn basic and advanced skills. The sail shack is the hub of activity for the development of nautical skills. From learning sailing knots to racing around Middle Bob Lake, sailing is a valuable skill to learn and practice at camp.

Kayaking
From balancing to barrel rolls, campers develop their skills in a controlled water environment. Try to master a new skill or just go for a cruise around the lake.

Water Trampoline
One of our newest additions and built for fun! This giant trampoline (25 feet in diameter) even has some additions like a slide, a rolling log, and of course the blob! It is almost always in use and becoming one of the favourites of everyone.
