Health and Safety

The health and safety of our campers and staff are our primary concern. On site we have an Infirmary staffed by 3 nurses and a doctor. We are 5 minutes from the hospital in Minden. The Infirmary is well equipped to look after the daily needs of our campers.

Safety at Onondaga goes beyond the obvious medical requirements. We have strict rules and guidelines that ensure the highest level of safety precautions is practiced at all the activities either on the water or on land. Sunscreen, hand washing and sanitizing is also a part of our camper daily routine.

Emotional Safety is just as important to us at Onondaga. We spend a great deal of time during our "Staff Week," training our staff how to prevent, recognize and deal with any bullying situations that may arise. At Onondaga, we teach our staff how to foster a supportive environment where kids are going to want come back to year after year.
